Who we are
Having worked in the safeguarding sector for over ten years, the experience of the Safer Foundations team is rooted in a deep understanding of the dangers faced by refugees themselves, and the challenges encountered by the teams working to keep them safe.
With a mission to improve the case advocacy pathways where people are at risk, and raise awareness of the systemic and structural violence inflicted on refugees, the services provided by Safer Foundations have been developed to implement solutions in systems and processes that do not lend themselves to safety.
Led by Louise Calvey and Tracey Hamer, Safer Foundations offers expert, contextual, and practical safeguarding support.
What we do
We provide widely accessible training, policy support and strategic service development. We are flexible, affordable and informed by years of experience in the refugee safeguarding sector. Just some of the ways in which we help organisations is through:
Policy, strategy and written practice guidance support
Advice and support on effective safeguarding escalation infrastructure
The provision of practice groups that regularly come together to discuss situations of concern
High risk individual case support or Internal Case Reviews
Advice to trustees and CEOs on Charity Commission and governance safeguarding concerns.
